Boys in the Boat

Club members and the wider rowing community gathered at The Forum Cinema in Hexham on Friday evening.

The “Boys in the Boat’ film, a 1930s-set story centered on the University of Washington’s rowing team, from their Depression-era beginnings to winning gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Before the film, Nathaniel Reilly O’Donnell, Director of Pathways at British Rowing gave a few words of inspiration to the almost full auditorium. A lovely occasion to have our club members together. Thank you to Nicci for arranging priority booking for our members and for the organising Nathaniel’s talk.
