Hexham Rowers Emma Nicholson and Jacob Lloyd excelled at the Beach Sprints World Championships in Qingdao, China.
Emma together with Lexi Gill from Poole RC won Gold in the U19 Womens Double and Jacob was 8th fastest in the world together with Elyssa Stoker from Sunderland RC in the U19 Mixed Doubles.
Emma and Lexi dominated throughout winning the time trial and then beating the United States and France on their route to the finals where they beat China by eight seconds.

Jacob and Elyssa made it through the quarter finals where they were beaten by Spain whilst recording the 8th fastest time of the championships out of 19 crews.
