Sunday was the last SL of the season down at Tyne Amateur Rowing Club .
There was a great atmosphere with excitement in the air as ladies and open crews were very close at the top of their respective tables.
Our ladies crew Hexcited made a fantastic effort upping their game and having 2 very close races being literally pipped at the post. They have come along way since the beginning of the season – well done.
Hexagogo our mens crew were lying 2nd and were on a mission to endeavour to come top of the table. It was a tall order as they would have to win every race and the top crew to have a disaster in 3 out of their 4 races.
They went out very strongly winning their first 2 races one being against the league leaders and despite a footplate malfunction. Sadly in their 3rd race a couple of crabs and a seat derailment meant they lost but they came back to win their final race easily.
Hexagogo did manage to hold onto 2nd place so have earned themselves runner up shield. Having all donned their new high viz Hexham tops they won best dressed crew. Congratulations to them for a well deserved recognition for their efforts over the season.

A great day was had by all . Many thanks to Ant and Ali for their coxing and to Tyne for their warm hospitality .
