Tyne Scullers Head 2026

Hexham Masters headed to the Tyne Single Scullers Head for a challenging day of racing. Strong winds, increasingly large waves and a turning tide made conditions tough, with the course shortened to 2km.

There were some fantastic performances across the divisions. Elizabeth had a blistering time but was pipped in WMas B, Catherine won WMas D, while Kevin took the win in Mas E with an impressive handicap time of 9:49. Rob finished a strong third in Mas G.

It was nice to buddy up into doubles and pairs for Division 4.
Gill & Sue won the F/G doubles, narrowly beating Anne & Pam. Elizabeth and Catherine survived a WMas2-, finishing mid table as did Angus and Dave in Mas E 2X. Kevin was also rowing a composite Mas2- finishing near the top of the table on handicap.

A brilliant team effort and some great results in seriously challenging conditions. Well done, Team Hexham!

Thank you to Catherine for towing the trailer.
