On Saturday 30th May we had a marvelous time at Wansbeck regatta. The fabulous weather from the previous two weeks had not helped the water levels and sunshine had encouraged a lot of weed to grow, but the Cambois Rowing Club members made some last minute changes to the course and cordoned off the weed to give their visitors a fun day in the sun, full of close racing and brilliant cakes!

We had many junior and masters crews racing throughout the day. Huge well done to everyone who competed – it was brilliant to see such strong performances. After a super day we were delighted to be told we’d jointly won the Victor Ludorum with hosts Cambois Rowing club and Lambton Rowing Club.

Thank you to our trailer drivers Suzanne, Dave and David and thanks to Cambois Rowing Club for hosting us. It’ll be our turn next week to host clubs from across the region at Hexham Regatta on Saturday 6th June – find out more here: HEXHAM REGATTA
