Four Hexham members travelled to Chester for the North of England Head on 22nd March 2026. The women’s masters C quad took to the beautiful River Dee in an 8+ with Cambois RC and Imogen coxing us. The sun was shining and it was flat calm as we headed to the start to face unfamiliar competition. We sat at a steady rate 30 with Trafford and Northwich in hot pursuit, Imogen keeping us calm under pressure. Finding a good rhythm on the overtake we found our stride, slowly increasing our lead over the 5k course.
After the final hair pin bend, we emptied the tank with nothing left over the finish line, happily taking the win with a time of 19 minutes and 12 seconds.
