8 Club Wins at an unseasonably cold and wet Talkin Tarn Regatta
It was an 'interesting' day at Talkin Tarn. We did have visions of sitting on the grass eating ice-cream and cheering each other on but it was to be a day of some extremes of weather with torrential rain, interspersed with wild winds whipping up the waves and then brief moments of respite with bursts of blue sky and sunshine. The weather took it's toll on several scullers including our own Adam Howorth. Adam who had won his heat in style to take his place in the final had an unscheduled dip in the Tarn around 3 strokes from the finish line!
Although we had many heat wins the final tally was 8 wins for Hexham Senior and Junior Squads. Amongst the Seniors it was the performance Squad that brought home the medals with the Racing Squad not quite able to push through for medal places. Something to sort out for next year!!
Junior Wins

Next stop for some of our junior squad members is the British Rowing Junior Championships with our biggest every entry: J18 2- Oliver Slipman, Matt Irwin, J16 1X Jack Curtis, WJ16 2X Chloe Slipman, Tabitha Barrass-Barker, WJ15 2X Julia Geldson, Georgia Cohen
Kevin and Dave (TTRC) have managed to get a late entry into Henley Masters this week in their pair. British Masters Champions three years in a row. Can they bag that coveted Henley medal?
Good luck to all. #GoTeamHexham!
