Learn 2 Row

We run Learn 2 Row courses following the British Rowing programme.

Our Learn to Row courses are aimed at complete beginners, people with no knowledge about rowing, carefully building your skills so that you can call yourself a rower! We have wide stable boats for you to learn in so it is very safe! Rowing is a low impact sport, ideal for any age. You don’t need to be fit to learn to row, you will gain fitness as you progress.

Our aims:

  • To make you feel welcome and valued as a course member.
  • To introduce you to the sport of rowing in a way that is fun but also challenging.
  • To ensure that you are safe and all times and that you are aware of how you keep yourself safe on and off the water.
  • To get you to a stage where you can row confidently in a crew.

10 years ago I completed a Learn 2 Row course, I was instantly hooked, I had to concentrate on every stroke, it was very technical. I was very keen to progress to the next level and compete. I quickly made friends and enjoyed rowing in a women’s masters crew, making it to my first head race in a coxed quad. I loved it!!
