The Club had a fabulous time on Saturday 19th October at Cambois Rowing Club for the forth instalment of the Northern Rowing Council’s Long Distance Sculling Series. Will high river levels on the lead up to the event and high winds forecast for the Sunday, it was touch and go whether the event would run, but we were absolutely delighted to enjoy a beautiful sunny Autumnal day.
The LDS was split across two divisions, the first division saw our masters ladies quad and four doubles take to the water (all at the same time on Cambois’ new landing stage!).
The second division saw the last of the ladies doubles. Well done to all crews for some close and exciting racing down the 2km course, from near the caravan park to the landing stage. (It was great to be able to get out of our boats as soon as we finished too!)
The Small Boats Head was also split into two divisions, this time with a men’s quad in the first division, followed by a ladies double and a ladies single and men’s single in the second division.
