British Rowing Junior and Senior Championships were held at Holme Pierrepont Watersports centre in Nottingham between 19-22 July 2024. The event required endurance from athletes often competing in time trials, semi finals and finals throughout the day but also our coaches, supporters and parents.
An astonishing 20 crews had Hexham RC representation from our small but mighty club! Everyone of the team performed brilliantly with many personal records achieved. Results, race reports and photos can be found on the British Rowing website here, we are mentioned for day 4 race report: “With little time to break free in 1000m, the Open J15 Double sculls provided another blanket finish featuring a daring row-through. Fewer than six seconds separated the six crews, one of the closest finals of the entire Championships, but the Hexham RC/Exeter RC composite snatched gold by 0.25 seconds from Hereford RC with Walbrook RC third.” from British Rowing’s Race Report for Day 4.
