There was a bumper field for Septembers’ Sunday League racing at Talkin Tarn in glorious late summer weather.
Hexham had a very good turnout with 12 club members taking part in a very competitive series of races against some strong crews. The women’s crew was not able to repeat its clean sweep last month at Cambois and remain third in the standings. The open crew won two and then drew with Cambois in a race that was neck and neck from start to finish. They are joint second going into the final round at Hexham on 1st October, which will be a test of sculling skills. Huge thanks to Beverley and Rob for coxing and putting in 25km of training along the Tyne last Saturday(!), to Justine for trailering and Kirsty for all the organising.
