Progressing  & Competitive Squads

For those wanting to compete there are numerous events in our region, sprint racing during the Regatta season and  endurance during the Long Distance season. Senior and Masters squads tend to row in nothing larger than quads or fours, we don’t have eights at Hexham due to the size of our river.

For those looking to compete further afield we have attended British Masters Rowing Championship, Henley Masters, World Masters.

Thursdays 6 – 8pm

Saturdays 8 – 10am

Sundays 8 – 10am

Recreation Rowing

Its not all about competing at Hexham. We have a beautiful stretch of river to enjoy and if racing is not your thing then there is no place like home.

10 years ago I completed a Learn 2 Row course, I was instantly hooked, I had to concentrate on every stroke, it was very technical. I was very keen to progress to the next level and compete. I quickly made friends and enjoyed rowing in a women’s masters crew, making it to my first head race in a coxed quad. I loved it!!
