Hexham Rowing Club's major fund raising event. Can you help by sponsoring us?
Hexham Regatta is one of the biggest one day Regatta events in the country which is a big achievement for a small club. The event attracts over 3000 visitors to Tyne Green.
Hexham Regatta has always been a major event in the North East. Its Christmas Handicap was a significant competition in the professional calendar in the early part of the 20th Century and attracted competitors from all over the British Isles. Even in the 1980's, when the club was unable to provide the volunteers to run the event, Tyne Green water-sports Association was created partly to keep the regatta alive because of its importance in the North East rowing scene. Fortunately, the revival in the clubs' fortunes mean that Hexham RC can organise its own event, which expands year on year.
Sponsor the Regatta!
We are used to seeing large events sponsored by big companies but arguably sponsoring the smaller events can produce proportionally greater impact. When you sponsor a local event you are investing the community infrastructure and social capital and that contribution is likely to mean a great deal to the area.
We are a community sports club and all our activities are run entirely by volunteers. The regatta is the club's biggest source of income as we try to keep our membership prices low to attract all of the community to the sport. We have been trying to replace some of our older boats with lighter craft more suited to the women and juniors we are trying to attract. You will find every age, shape, size and level of fitness enjoying their time on our beautiful stretch of water. Despite our small size we still have had some notable successes in British Masters Championships and have ambitions to futher our success with out losing our 'have a go' culture.
Types of Sponsorship
We have a range of options from sponsoring the whole event to sponsoring a trophy or a single race. To discuss sponsorship please get in touch!
