1.       All events are to be held in Fine or Best boats except Novice Single Sculls which may be offered in either Fine or Tracer boats, if sufficient entries received (please state boat type CLEARLY WITH ENTRY – or FINE boat will be assumed).

2.       Doubling-up (i.e. two events per division) welcomed, but only if CLEARLY notified BEFORE the draw. N.B. doubling-up includes competitors, boats, blades AND coxes!

Please do not overcommit your equipment and/or competitors as NO changes will be made to the racing programme AFTER the draw because of injudicious and/or un-notified multiple entries!

3.       O.A.R.A. ENTRIES ONLY.

ALL entries to be received by 12 a.m. (midnight) on Thursday 29th May 2008.

FULL PAYMENT, to be received by the entry deadline above, should be sent to:

Mr. S. McCreedy, Regatta Treasurer, 6, Garden House Estate, Crawcrook, NE40 4PN.

Cheques payable to “Hexham Regatta”.

Please note that ALL competitors require a valid A.R.A. registration number now, including J13 or younger.

Late, incomplete, undecipherable, e-mail or telephone entries will NOT be accepted!

Payment for all entries in full must be received by the entries deadline of 12 a.m. on Thursday 29th May or they will not be entered into the draw.

Entries will also NOT be accepted for single sculls without the scullers name.

4.       The Regatta will be divided into two divisions for entry purposes – please check the grid overleaf and ensure you enter your crews into the correct events.

5.    The Regatta reserves the right to limit, for either safety and practical reasons, the number of crews in any particular event or to cancel any event with insufficient entries or comprising entries from only one club, at the Secretary’s discretion.

  1. Please indicate an alternative event with your entry – if not, and your original event does not run, we will scratch your crew from the draw – we will NOT be contacting clubs with entry queries except in exceptional circumstances at the Secretary’s discretion. This is to speed up the draw process and making it available as quickly as possible to competing clubs.
  2. The Hexham Regatta draw is computerised and will be made at 2 p.m. on Sunday 1st June 2008 at the Regatta Secretary’s home address: 21, Heugh Edge, Sacriston, DURHAM. DH7 6AU.
  3. Telephone or e-mail ENQUIRIES ONLY (NO ENTRIES) and status changes to 0191 371 2816 or hexhamregatta@yahoo.com

REMEMBER! Any competitor, boat, blade or cox may enter a maximum of TWO events in each division!!

e.g. 1 a MJ16 sculler could enter both MJ16 2x and MN 1x in division 1, but NO others.

The same sculler could also enter MN2x and MN 4x+ in division 2.

e.g. 2 a WN oarswoman could enter WN 4+ and WS4 8o in division 2, but NO others.

The same oarswoman could also enter WN 8o and WN 2x in division 1.

We hope these division allocations will still permit most competitors who wish to enter up to 4 events over the course of the day, limited to only 2 in each division.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

O.A.R.A. supposedly reports competitor and boat doubling [as long as you click the right boxes?!], but it didn’t work last year, necessitating the draw team spending almost a whole day sorting it out manually! L. Please attempt to indicate boat doubling using the O.A.R.A. tick boxes/drop down menus BUT also please use the comments box for each crew to tell us about ALL doubling up – competitors, boats, blades or cox doubling – the latter two you MUST tell us via the comments box as O.A.R.A. does not report this doubling.

Finally, a polite reminder for some of the Durham Colleges (and anyone else who also does this.....) – you CANNOT have two crews sharing a boat or blades or a cox in the SAME event! [at ours or

any other regatta! J].
